New tool for securing Internet Explorer in development [January 2007]
We have started the development of a new tool that would allow Internet Explorer to execute in a sandbox on a user's Windows machine. The goal is to prevent any Internet Explorer buffer overflow attacks (or other malicious code that exploits Internet Explorer) from producing any persistent damage. In the sandbox, Internet Explorer will not be able to save or delete any files on the user's machine, therefore any malicious code will not be able to inflict any damage.
