As usual, the articles published on this site go through the yearly review (and if necessary, update) process.
If applicable, the samples provided are also migrated to the latest version of development tools and re-tested.
Some of the articles are still under this process; they will be back online by the end of the month.
The following articles are currently offline:
- Best Practices for SQL-enabled Applications
- Proper Localization of Resources in an MFC Application
We have published a couple of articles related to implementation techniques in ASP.Net: how to
set the default button that submits when the user presses Enter on a form that has multiple
buttons, how to correctly handle the session and authetication timeouts and how to prevent
users from submitting a form multiple times when the form processing takes long.
We have published a couple of articles describing useful design patterns for creating type-safe
session and cache collection objects in your ASP.Net application.
We have started the development of a new tool that would allow Internet Explorer to execute in a sandbox on
a user's Windows machine. The goal is to prevent any Internet Explorer buffer overflow attacks (or other
malicious code that exploits Internet Explorer) from producing any persistent damage. In the sandbox,
Internet Explorer will not be able to save or delete any files on the user's machine, therefore any
malicious code will not be able to inflict any damage.
We have completed the yearly review and update process of the articles published on this site, and re-compiling
and testing of associated samples (if applicable).
We have completed the re-organization of the site and migration to ASP.Net 2.0. We've tried to keep the layout
and links consistent with the previous version of the site, to avoid confusing the users. Please let us know
if you encounter any problems / broken links.
